Dwelling Fire Program Changes for Minnesota

Sioux Falls, SD - American Reliable Insurance Company has made changes to the current Dwelling Fire Program for Minnesota that will go into effect June 1st, 2008 for new business and August 1st, 2008 for renewal business. Below you will see some of the changes that have been made.



Program Changes:

  • The rates have been changed to reflect a 3% increase
  • DP-1 limits are $25,000 to $250,000
  • DP-2 limits are $50,000 to $250,000
  • DP-3 limits are $50,000 to $300,000
  • Personal Property Replacement Cost is available on DP-2 and DP-3 risks as an option
  • Earthquake coverage optional
  • Claim free transfer credit is increased to 7%
  • Age 50 and over applicants will receive a 5% credit
  • A 5% Circuit Breaker discount has been added











  • Underwriting Changes:

  • DP-3 program now available for rental properties
  • DP-2 and DP-3 policies may be written at either Replacement Cost or ACV
  • Plumbing, heating and roof updates are not required but risks must be of sound nature
  • Risks must be submitted unbound for prior approval if more than 2 losses or 1 loss for fire, theft or liability
